Obituary of Charles P. McGarry

Charles P. McGarry  

 

Charles P. McGarry, 71, of Royersford, PA passed away Friday, November 25, 2022.

He was born and raised in Drexel Hill on April 23, 1951, the son of the late Cornelius and the late Margaret N. (Reuter) McGarry.

Charlie was a devoted husband, father, Pop-pop, brother, brother-in-law, nephew, cousin, uncle and friend. Survivors include beloved Wife Judith D. (Organ) McGarry of Royersford, PA, Daughter Michelle (& Stephen) Hopkins of Collegeville, PA, Daughter Jackie (& Patrick) Carney of Collegeville, PA, Son Peter (& Becca) McGarry of Clermont, FL, Sister Maureen Becker of Aston, PA. Charlie is also survived by his grandchildren Marissa Hopkins (& Nick Kaso), Shawn Hopkins, Logan Carney, Aidan Hopkins, Emily Carney, Olivia Hopkins, Avery Carney, Piper McGarry, Reese McGarry and Cassie McGarry, as well as his brother-in-law James Cunnane Sr and many nieces and nephews including James Cunnane and Cori Stebelman.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his loving sister Edith Cunnane and two brothers Neil McGarry and John McGarry.

Charlie has been living in Montgomery County for the last 20 years. He was a member of St. Teresa Calcutta RC Church in Schwenksville, PA and a former member of St. Bernadette RC Church and he grew up in St. Andrew's parish both of Drexel Hill, PA. Charlie was employed for many years by the family business Drexel Hill Furniture. He was an avid Eagles and Penn State fan. He enjoyed many summers in Ocean City, NJ. He also loved spending time with his family in Disney World and Naples, FL.

His Funeral Service will be held Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 11:30 AM from St. Teresa of Calcutta RC Church, 256 Swamp Pike, Schwenksville, PA.

There will be a visitation for family and friends on Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM at the church.

Interment will follow in Schwenksville Cemetery, Schwenksville, PA.

Memorial Contributions may be made in his memory to: St. Patrick Center, 800 N. Tucker Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63101.
